The new moon in Scorpio yesterday has proven to be very trying for me. First of all, I just wanted to post this because I'd forgotten what it says about the prospects in the Astrology Zone forecasts for November (that I always read) but that it's scary, now that I've read them again, how on the spot they are. For the past weeks I've been rethinking a choice I made about pursuing a certain direction within the master of Political Science. I've been thinking about the choice between Comparative Political Science and Political Philosophy throughout the summer. I finally made a choice for Political Philosophy, for a number of different reasons that seemed valid to me at the time I had to make the decision. However, I've been particpating in 3 seminars now and I'm not a happy camper. Yesterday I was at my moms when the bomb burst and I just broke down crying because I was so unhappy with my choice (on top of that, I had a bad case of PMS). I had a fall out with her and went back to my own place when this morning I woke up to make an appointment with my study advisor to discuss the options I have for switching to the other program. So tomorrow we will meet. I'm friggin' nervous. Also, this morning I finally started my period. This is relevant because the moon has been so influential this time. My rising sign is Scorpio, 10 degrees, so this new moon was in my 1st house. Also, the Moon, in my chart, rules my 9th house of higher education and philosophy. And here's what it says in Susan's forecasts: This time the new moon will fall in your solar first house, the house that describes the essence of your personality and how you view yourself. It is the house that holds all your deeply held thoughts and dreams, and all your plans to move ahead in certain areas. These are private thoughts, entirely yours, so I can't tell you what they are, but you already know. You will have two weeks from November 16 to make an initiation on something dearly important to you. Just wanted to share because I thought it was amazing and it made me fall in love with the universe even more and with astrology in particular. |

For those of you who know I study astrology, it might not come as a surprise that I finally decided to combine two of my passions: tennis and astrology :). I looked up Roger's upcoming transits and, thus, challenges. It is very interesting because he has Saturn, the planet of sobriety, restriction and maturity transiting his first house right now, the house of the self (beginning of this house is also known as the Ascendant). Which means he is cleaning himself up, so to speak. I'm guessing he's busy trying to understand himself in a new and more mature way, peeling off all of the layers and getting rid of what is useless. This is magnified by the fact that Saturn is in Virgo right now, the sign of hard work, preciseness and practicality (Roger's Ascendant is in Virgo too). I'm guessing his perceptions of who he is and what his purpose in this life is are being tested. He's brought (back) down to earth, he will be pressured to see situations that unfold around him (and reality in general) more clearly and change his take on life into one that is more no-nonsense like. In Roger's chart, Venus is in Virgo in the 1st house. Saturn has just crossed this planet and will go over it one more time around since the planet is now in retrograde motion. So Saturn will hang around Roger's Venus for a while. Venus is the planet of love, of beauty and of want. Not want in a greedy, sexual way, that is more Mars's area. But want in a loving, kind of superficial, sugarcoated way. Venus in Virgo is critical of partners and seeks perfection in a partnership. This is, of course, hard to realize. Though Venus in Virgo seeks perfection, it is not true that these people never settle for a partner that might be, in another persons eyes, totally imperfect or unequal. It is unimportant whether the partnership is perfect in the objective sense of the word. Just as long as Venus in Virgo thinks the partnership is perfect and useful, there will not be a problem. Venus in Virgo is the less romantic position for Venus, since Virgo is a pragmatic sign and Venus's energy does not feel comfortable being expressed through that sign, which is logical if you think about it. Venus represents beauty and love, expression and graciousness. Virgo represents practicality, perfection, inhibition (or shyness), sobriety and hard work. Not necessarily very romantic. Anyway, back to what I wanted to say about Saturn and Venus. Saturn has crossed Venus in Roger's chart, as I've mentioned before, and will go over this planet once more in March. What does this mean? This influence will have a strong effect on your relationships with others. Relationships that are solidly based will go through a period of testing and examination during which you and your loved ones and friends will become increasingly concerned about what is valid between you. A weak and unstable relationship will go through the same process, but you are more likely to conclude that it is not worth preserving. Consequently, at this time the relationships that have no purpose or that have outlived their purpose in your life will be cut off. Often you will be reluctant to let go of them. Even in the best of circumstances you are likely to withdraw from others. During this time you have to evaluate who you are, what your individuality consists of and how all of these fit into your relationships with other people, particularly loved ones. You may come to some harsh realizations about your relationships, and even those that you thought were quite good may have to be given up. But you can be sure that any relationship that comes through this period in good shape is very real and important to you. New relationships with a strongly "fated" quality may also come into your life now, which will have very profound significance for you in about fourteen years. This is definitely a time to be conservative in financial matters and not take on any new financial obligations, for you may have trouble meeting your existing ones. On the other hand, this is an excellent time for firming up and organizing the financial structure of your life. In general you should look upon this transit as a time for withdrawing into yourself with respect to others and to material possessions. This withdrawal will enable you to get a clearer idea of what and who you are, so that your future relationships with people and possessions will be more solidly based on reality and therefore more reliable and useful. Saturn is the ruler of his fifth house, the house of love, fun and children, and so this area in his life is highlighted too during this transit. Either he gets serious about love and about pursuing happiness and takes time off to rest, or he might break off a significant relationship. This might not be something initiated by him, though. The likelihood that something unexpected will happen in his love life area is stimulated by Uranus transiting his seventh house: the house of the significant other/enemy (the seventh house encapsulates both of these, and there's a very old saying that can explain this: there's a fine line between love and hate). Uranus is the planet of abrupt changes and instability. The goal of this planet is to stir things up a bit and to break conventions. Uranus wants to renew and get out of an old rut. Besides transiting through Roger's seventh house, Uranus also rules his 6th house (Aquarius starts on the cusp of the sixth). The sixth house is the house of Virgo: the house of health and work. There might be some unexpected changes in this area as well. These transits can cause for sudden and unexpected changes, but also changes that can be tough to deal with in the beginning. Especially since the Saturn/Uranus opposition, that is taking place right now, as we speak, falls in Roger's 1st house/7th house axis. The house of the self and the house of the significant other. In summary, Roger will be facing quite a few challenges dealing with his perception of who he is, and also how this perception relates to his relationships. Saturn will want to see him be honest with himself, will want to force him to analyze his life and relationships, preferably with a critical eye. Uranus will want to stir things up in his life, whether through his own or through other people's actions. Eventually, though, the purpose of these transits is to learn from them and come out of these situations stronger. For now, we wish him good luck in the final tomorrow, against his Roger's ( chart ) with transits |
